Remember 9/11, Unite Like 9/12
We mourn and remember 9/11 every year it comes around.
-
But what I wish we would celebrate is the unity we had on 9/12.
-
The division in our country today is killing us.
-
We’ve become our own worst enemy and drawn a line between each other that outsiders would never honor.
-
To them, we are all Americans…and when they strike, they don’t ask questions…
-
One day we’ll understand that even in our differences we are all on the same team in times like these.
-
As I’ve gotten older my pride in this country has grown stronger.
-
This year I wanted to honor those who lost their lives and the men and woman who served that day by doing the 9/11 challenge.
-
Without hesitation my trainer/coach @marco_a_rojasc said I’m with you bro…same team, I’m doing it with you.
-
The challenge: 110 Floors, 45lbs of weight (same as NYFD) and carrying the 🇺🇸 to honor.
-
We added one last touch…no headphones, no music, no podcast…nothing.
-
I heard @davidgoggins voice: “sometimes there ain’t no f’n music when your going to war with yourself”
-
And that day, there was no music…I can only imagine the sounds they were hearing making their way up those stairs.
-
This may have been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done…
-
Got in at 6:30am and crushed it in about 43 minutes.
-
Every 10 floors Marco and I passed the flag…I’m proud of us.
-
Sometimes you do things “BECAUSE”…comfort is for the weak, we don’t do that on this side.
-
Love y’all, God Bless.
